New England Equal Best Winning Streak Since Tom Brady Era with Triumph Against Jets
First-year player Henderson has scored five scores in the present year
The New England Patriots equaled their top unbeaten stretch from the Tom Brady period as they beat AFC East opponents the New York Jets by 13 points in professional football
Rookie Henderson led the way with three scores as the New England squad notched an eighth consecutive victory for the initial occasion since legendary quarterback Brady's closing campaign with the franchise in the 2019 season
QB Drake Maye accumulated 281 yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts
Victory extends the New England's advantage at the top of the AFC East as they advanced to nine victories against two losses, with the New York at the foot after dropping to two wins and eight losses
The opposing team had taken the lead at Foxborough with QB Justin Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to conclude the Jets' initial series
But the Patriots fought back in the second period as Henderson ran in two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier caught a pass from Drake Maye at the back of the end zone in the middle of the third quarter to push the score to 21-7
"It was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been fantastic for him to keep earning playing time," Maye said of the rookie. "He wants to be outstanding."
Fields found John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Borregales kicked a two field goals in the fourth quarter as the Patriots closed out the triumph
