Disturbing Video Captures Moment Law Enforcement Get Knifed in Surprise Attack

Both Senior Officers Moments Before the Assailant Got Stunned

One police sergeant who rushed to the assistance of a partner that was assaulted by a knifeman was granted the King's Commendation for Valor.

Sergeant Tim Ansell struggled against 27-year-old Jacob Brown after he held a blade to the throat of his colleague Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the law enforcement personnel and their partner, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a motorist after a road collision in that location in mid-2023.

Brown knifed and cut the two Sgt Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft stopped him with a Taser.

"Policeman knifed," the officer was heard to say over his radio.

Officer-mounted and dashboard camera footage shared by the force revealed Brown, wearing in dark clothing with a hood up, rush to Sergeant Foster from the rear with a weapon pointed forward.

He collided with the officer who stumbled and fell to the ground, after which Sergeant Ansell intervened and attempted to subdue him to the floor although being repeatedly struck with the weapon.

Police Constable Wolstencroft Incapacitated the Aggressor, Jacob Brown, with a Electric Weapon

Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and sought a safe opportunity, concluding the confrontation to an end.

Sgt Ansell stated audibly: "Can I get help on my neck here, I got knifed in the neck."

Sgt Ansell received two lacerations to his throat and additional wounds to his arms and body, whereas Sgt Foster suffered slash wounds.

Officials said Sgt Foster used his bare hands to stop his colleague's blood loss before emergency responders came.

The latest award follows subsequent to the trio of policemen won departmental Valor Recognitions in late 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the regional Police Federation in April 2024.

They additionally received a Area Valor Recognition in July 2024.

"The responses of each policeman eventually rescued each other and resulted in no members of the public suffered any wounds."

Brown received a sentence to an indefinite hospital order in early 2024, as stated by the department.
